Duriya is passionate educator, K-12 publisher and business leader with a demonstrated history of working in the Education and Edtech industries.

In her current role as Senior Vice President and Publisher, International Education at Scholastic Inc, the world’s largest publisher and distributor of children’s books, she is responsible for overall international education business strategy and goals as well as international product development (digital and print K-12) and education roadmap. She has oversight of product strategy, product management, product marketing, content, instructional design, UX and design, project management as well as implementation teams. Working with international business units to develop business strategy for education and ensuring that product development and management strategy dovetails business strategy means that frequent travel is entailed.

Duriya is proudest of having played a role in bringing the Singapore brand of education to more than 50 countries around the world, including the US. In Singapore, she has worked on Ministry-led and developed projects for practically all subjects in the curriculum since the 1990’s.

Duriya has spent nearly twenty years working with teachers and districts in the implementation of curriculum programs around the world, and observing the dynamic interplay between pedagogy and the cultural and social contexts in which it has to operate. She is passionate about teachers’ continued professional learning and development and has led many seminars and workshops on diverse topics. A published author, having written several English language learning textbooks, math textbooks, children’s books, picture books and readers as well as academic articles and papers, she has also been invited to present keynotes internationally and consults for ministries, NGOs and education businesses and mentors startups, particularly in edtech.
